With the creation of Micha in 2006 as a joint venture with Mitas, a worldwide player on the market for pylons, Charignon was seeking to boost its business on the international scene. That ambition has been fulfilled with in particular a new, big project in Mozambique.
The Swedish company Eltel has entrusted Charignon with the production of pylons for two high voltage lines (100 kmat 110 kV and123 kmat 275 kV) as part of a huge project for the reinforcement of the national grid. Between now and the end of 2014, Charignon will be supplying 5,000 tons of steel. The Turkish workshops of Micha will be handling the manufacture of the relevant components prior to their shipment.
After Mozambique, the company’s sights are set on Liberia and Senegal.
