AN ADC INNOVATION
The aim is to ensure a high level of safety (falling loads). The project is funded by an FUI (Fond Unique Interministeriel - Unique Interministerial Fund) to finance R&D projects.
Three technical aspects:
- Redundant rigging holding the load in case a cable fails
- Torque limiter built into the reducer: limits cable failure in case of load incidents
- Fast Brake - the aim is to work with the tongs closed (brake engaged by an auger following the rotation of the drum).
The tower is also equipped with a jib for lifting and setting up future hoists for testing.
