Saclay (91)

EDF research centre

The new EDF R&S centre is designed like an imposing clockwork, with 4 circular buildings (161 m in diameter for the largest and 42 m for the smallest). VIRY is in charge of creating a concave lens-shaped glass roof and cladding the clerestory facades with VEA laminated glass panels, fixed with spun aluminium fasteners.

The Phi building (30 m long by 13.50 m high) is fitted with communicating LED glazing that reveals the EDF logo. The buildings have dual certification: HQE and BREEAM.
