At the entrance to the Tarentaise region in Savoie, EDF is carrying out one of the largest hydroelectric development projects in France with the extension of the La C

THE LARGEST OVERHEAD TRAVELLING CRANE EVER BUILT BY ADC

ADC won the design/supply/assembly/commissioning contract for the heavy lifting equipment for the new buildings: 14 pieces of equipment (overhead travelling cranes, suspended travelling girders, monorails), including the largest overhead travelling crane (in terms of tonnage) ever built by ADC, a 2 x 200 t / 40 t / 2 x 10 t overhead travelling crane with a span of 18.10 m!

HIGHLY RESTRICTIVE SPECIFICATIONS

Added to the heavy tonnage was the difficulty of manufacturing the bridge to extremely restrictive EDF specifications (RRCMH: Règles de Réalisation et de Contrôle des Matériels Hydrauliques, usually applied to penstocks and valves).

The tests were successfully carried out with 500t of load (1.25 times the nominal load).

Working upstream of the project, Franki Fondation (Groupe Fayat) created the foundations for the future power station, with almost 200 piles cased to a depth of 28 metres.
