A new, safe crane

Commissioned from the Joseph Paris company by Toulon's Service d'Infrastructure de La Défense in 2014, this impressive 1,350-tonne rail crane, culminating at over 90 metres at the top of its tower, will be capable of lifting 120 tonnes at 47 metres! A visit to the site in its final phase was organised in Toulon on 01 June 2016.

A Titan replaces another Titan! The "10B" crane replaces its predecessor, the "10P", also renamed Titan, which has been working at the Toulon naval base until now.

On 1 June, the Fayat Metal teams, in the presence of the Group's Chairman, Jean-Claude Fayat, welcomed Admiral Joly, Préfet Maritime, Engineer General Stéphan and the Director of the Toulon Rainero Defence Infrastructure Department, who were given a detailed tour of the site. The work, which left many onlookers speechless, could be admired from the sea by the guests after they embarked at La-Seyne-sur-Mer. It will be used for maintenance on the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier. It should be noted that the Joseph Paris teams are assisted by those of another Group company, Satelec, which is carrying out the electrical work.

Through its Metal, Building and Energy Networks divisions, the Fayat Group is currently working on a number of projects for the Ministry of Defence, either supplying maintenance centres or participating in the modernisation of certain equipment.

Bec Construction has just delivered the reception building for Barracuda crew training in Toulon, and is currently building a restaurant to the west of the naval base, due for delivery in October 2016. In addition, thanks to a consortium led by Fayat Bâtiment and bringing together all the Group's business lines, Fayat was chosen by ESID in Bordeaux to design, build and maintain the technical infrastructure for the NH90 helicopters at the 5ᵉ RHC in Pau-Uzein. Also through a consortium led by Bec Construction Provence and again on behalf of ESID Lyon, our Group will design, build and maintain the new Emergency Department at the Hôpital d'Instruction des Armées Laveran in Marseille. Finally, a few months ago, Fayat Energie Services and Viry, through Thalès, contributed to securing the Balard site by participating in the energy network and supplying Faraday cages.
