Have you heard of Cyber World CleanUp Day?
What does it involve?
It's a worldwide event, co-sponsored by two associations - World Cleanup Day - France and the Institut du Numérique Responsable - to extend the life of our digital equipment and reduce our digital environmental footprint.
The aim is to raise awareness and take concrete action by encouraging each and every one of us to "Cyber CleanUp Data" - to clean up the data stored on our equipment.
But why preoccupy ourselves with all this?
While digital technology is a source of great progress, its acceleration is worrying for the environment. Digital technology is responsible for 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions today, and it is estimated that by 2025 this digital pollution will double!
Harmful impacts have to be considered at every stage in the life cycle of digital equipment (from manufacture to end of life, including use).
TEAM UP! This year, the third edition will take place from 14 to 19 March inclusive. Fayat Metal has decided to take part with all its subsidiaries. |

To put it more concretely, that's as many emissions as it takes to manufacture, consume or travel:

Taking part in this event is a good way of realising the impact we have by storing so many files and emails.
To limit this impact as much as possible and avoid spending half a day sorting through everything once a year, we invite you to carry out regular clean-up sessions.
