THE SACLAY CAMPUS

As part of the construction of the new GENES ENSAE PARITECH university complex on the Saclay campus, the facades, external joinery and cladding package was awarded to the CASTEL ALU/VIRY consortium.

VILQUIN won the carpentry work package for this project.

VIRY was entrusted in particular with the production of the mobile glass sunbreakers. These are controlled according to the comfort parameters (temperature, brightness) of the interior spaces, while optimising user ergonomics.
Incorporated into the exotic steel supporting structure, the 507 rectangular units measuring 3.3 m by 2.1 m, each made up of 17 horizontal slats, contribute fully to the lightness of the whole, while the mechanical elements are incorporated into the structural posts and are therefore invisible.
