MOBILE ART BY ZAHA HADID
After a world tour, the pavilion created for Chanel by the famous Pritzker prize-winning architect needed a serious overhaul.
The Vosges-based company VIRY, a subsidiary of FAYAT, carried out an inventory of the 60 containers packing the pavilion, followed by a clean assembly, repairs to damaged parts and the manufacture of new fixing systems. Finally, VIRY completely reinstalled the pavilion in its final position, on the forecourt of the Arab World Institute in Paris.
THE PAVILION NOW HOUSES EXHIBITIONS
The moulded fibreglass-reinforced polyester resin hulls are attached to the roof, which is made of stretched canvas with air cushions and translucent ETFE membranes.
FAYAT subsidiary SATELEC was responsible for the building's power, lighting and air-conditioning systems.
The pavilion now houses exhibitions.
