RECOUVRANCE BRIDGE
Joseph Paris took over the replacement of the deck, lifting mechanisms and the associated control-command of one of the longest and highest lifting bridges in Europe.
The new span has been assembled in Belgium on an area with a quay to facilitate its boarding barge and transport to Brest. With a range of 87.5 meters, it weighs 625 tons and now has corbelling sidewalks for pedestrians.
The lifting mechanisms required 8 months of study and as much manufacturing in the offices and workshops of the company.
The rehabilitation of the Recouvrance Bridge is part of a new traffic program that was opened to pedestrians, cars, cyclists and trams in June 2012.
